Users fees were introduced on July 1, 2001 and will be reassessed on July 1, 2005.
· Charge per users: establish user category: primary user and general
user. Primary users: The lab is directly involved in crystal data collection,
processing and structural determination ($3000/year). General users: Collaborators
of crystallographic project, but not directly involved in data collection, processing
and structural determination (up to $1000/year). · Access to facility
by other faculty, staff, postdoc and students: Facility open to all UCHSC faculty,
staff, postdocs and students, but need approval of the X-ray facility steering
committee to arrange details. · Charges for service: Crystallization:
First screen of 50 conditions with assistance and supplies $75. Screens
after the first $50/ 50 conditions of "preset screens" Crystal screening:
$100 for half a day of screening. Data collection: $300 for a two-day data
collection, data processing, and backup. Use of crystallization room and microscope:
$100 per quarter. Services currently provided: · Project
design and consultation: Assistance with starting projects includes advice on
protein expression and purification, and crystallization. Until now these services
have been provided in direct collaboration with the primary users. Since the manager
has just become available, these services will be more broadly available to all
members of the cancer center. · Crystallization screening: Facilities
for setting up crystal growth trays is available. · Screening crystals:
Crystal (diffraction) screening is available. · Data collection: Data
collection service is available. Service
