Receptor Target Structure Modeling based on Known Structures - Homology modeling will be performed automatically using packages that have performed well at the CASP meetings, with manual adjustments as necessary to take into account known biological information about the activity and function of specific residues. An example of such a program is COMPOSER, originally developed by Blundell et. al. and now part of the Tripos SYBYL system. This will also be done through the numerous WEB-servers available such as SWISS-MODEL, which provide homology models given a sequence. These perform PSI-BLAST or other searches to find similar sequences, in particular those in the Protein Data Bank structural database; construct a 3-D model from the known structures found and a final refinement step.
