Sample Guidelines & Information.

  • No radioactive samples or buffer will be accepted.
  • Protein purity must be 95% or better.
  • The buffer must be identical to the sample. This is best accomplished by exhaustive dialysis of the sample against the buffer and using the last dialysate buffer.
  • There should be no highly absorbing compounds in the buffer (e.g., DTT or EDTA).
  • Sedimentation Velocity.
    • Sample: At least 425 µl with 0.7-0.8 OD at scanning wavelength.
    • Buffer: At least 1 ml.
  • Sedimentation Equilibrium.
    • Sample: At least 125 µl with 0.2-0.3 OD at scanning wavelength.
    • Buffer: At least 1 ml.

What is your sample name and compostion?

Your sample ID number.

Buffer components. Include concentrations and pH.

Monomer molecular weight (mass spectrometry (preferred) or from the amino acid sequence).

How did you determine the monomer molecular weight?

Estimated solution molecular weight(s) as determined by gel filtration. We require that gel filtration is performed on your samples before analyzing your samples by ultracentrifuge.

When will the sample will be ready for us?

Explain any special handling for your sample.

You can print the next verification page after you submit your request. We will contact you to schedule your request. We will contact you to schedule your request. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours, please contact us.
